Jonas Cain and I recently had an amazing conversation with Matt Jeffers. He's an actor based in New York City where he’s worked on numerous off-Broadway productions and currently works on NBC’s hit show New Amsterdam where he plays the role of Dr. Mark Walsh, and you can also see him playing the role of Russell on Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Soon, you’ll be able to see Matthew star in a feature film along with actress Sarah Hays—but the project is so new he wasn’t at liberty to tell us even the name of the film.
During the discussion, Matthew shared his challenges with a rare form of dwarfism called skeletal dysplasia with joint laxity, requiring him to undergo 20 surgeries by age 10 and having to relearn to walk. It also stunted his height to only 4 feet, 4 inches tall, but as you'll hear, it didn't stunt his tall dreams.
In this podcast conversation, Matthew shares insight into the lessons he learned about the importance of a singular focus on your mission, and the power of belief in your self and the value you offer the world. Matthew reinforce what we already know -- we have the power within us to endure so much, to overcome so much if we just have the will and the dream to do so.
Check out this episode of It’s the Climb to hear the whole story.
